Happy Christmas
Just been amusing myself looking at this post from ACS LAW on their website. You have to hand it to them they really are quite absurd.

The ACS LAW Christmas Message
As Christmas approaches, here at ACS Law we have been working hard dealing with our file sharing projects. We have been reviewing all cases which are currently open, and a good number of these cases have been dropped, where we do not either consider litigation to be a viable option or to be beneficial to our clients. A letter has been sent out today informing those involved of this, and explaining that they now owe our client’s a duty of care to ensure this type of activity does not happen again.
However, with all other cases, litigation remains a possibility. We have taken instructions from our clients to issue the next batch of proceedings early in the New Year, and we would urge anyone who has not settled at this stage to consider doing so before further costs are incurred. Cases involving the infringement of copyright are held in the Patents Court in London, and as they are automatically assigned to the multi-track system, we are able to claim our client's legal costs should we succeed in court. Should you now wish to settle, please contact us early in the New Year.
Additionally, we are beginning to receive the new data from the ISP’s following the court orders of 19 November 2009. This means that a fresh wave of letters of claim will be ready to send early in January 2010, and we will continue to send letters of claim out at various points in 2010. With new clients adding their works to our roster of titles, we feel we are succeeding in demonstrating that the fight against internet piracy is winnable, and will we will continue this pursuit into the next decade.
Office Closure
Our office is going to be closed over the Christmas period, from 5pm today (Wednesday 23 December 2009), and opening again on Monday 4 January 2010 at 9.30am. We will look to respond to any correspondence received during this period upon our return in the New Year. In the meantime, we wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
